It's Thanksgiving

Well the title lies. It's not thanksgiving yet. But were getting into that holiday spirit. Hanging pictures of The goblin turkey and singing turkey carols. Okay maybe the goblin turkey isn't a thing, but the carols are. Hope you enjoy.

Why Humming Bird Flies Very Fast and Never Stops

Hey guys! So over the weekend, for my history class, I had to write an African Folktale for class. And I thought I should share it with you. Hope you like it!

Why Humming Bird Flies Very Fast and Never Stops

One sunny morning on the plantains of West Africa, Humming Bird just woke up from sleeping in her nest. Humming Bird liked to scare people. She scared people for as long as she could remember. “Another day another scare.” She chuckled to herself as she did every morning. Then she slowly flew off to start her day.

Everyday she always started off with scaring Monkey. Humming Bird flew up into the tree while monkey was slowly waking up. And she always screamed “BOO!”  Monkey was always so scared that the fell right on to the ground.  Then she flew away slowly so Monkey could hear her wicked sounding laugh. She did the same thing to Hippo all of the other creatures of the forest.

One day Monkey called a jungle meeting at the watering hole. “We need to do something about Humming Bird. I always start my morning with a head-ache,” said Monkey.
“Yes,” added Lion “we do need to. I always fall off my rock when I wake up.”
“But what can we do?” said Hippo who was still covered in mud from when Humming Bird scared him so much that he jumped into a mud puddle.
“I might have an idea.” Money said. The group huddled around Monkey. Then Monkey told the group his big plan.

The next day rolled around. Humming Bird woke up fresh and happy. “Another day another scare.” She said and then slowly flew to Monkey’s home. “BOO!” she screamed. But there wasn't anyone there. “That’s odd. I’ll go try Hippo’s house.” She flew to Hippo’s house. There was no one there.  She checked everyone’s house and no one was there.  “That’s really odd. I’ll go to the watering hole. Then look for everyone after.”

Humming Bird slowly flew over to the watering hole and right when she was going to take a sip of water.  “BOO!” screamed Lion and Hippo who popped out of a bush.
“BOO!” yelled Monkey and Kangaroo from behind a tree.
“BOO!” shouted all of the forest animals popping out of different bushes and trees.
“AHHHHH!!!!!!” screamed Humming Bird as she flew up and away.

All of the jungle animals smiled and rejoiced. “She’s finally gone!” ,exclaimed Hippo, “ thank you Monkey for this wonderful idea! Hip Hip!”
“HORAY” all the animals shouted happily. They were finally free of being scared by Humming Bird.

Meanwhile Humming Bird was flying as fast as she could. She flew past the jungle, past a griot and some people trading gold.  She flew all around the globe. Humming Bird never stopped flying because she was scared of being scared again.

That’s why Humming bird flies really fast and never stops.

Breakfast

Ahhh Breakfast. The supposedly  "the most important meal of the day" even though 1 in 10 kids skip breakfast, which isn't good on a school day because it helps you learn by giving you energy.

And the meal time you can make the most puns about.

For breakfast, the most popular breakfast food is cereal, Cheerio's cereal to be exact. Apparently the first cereal was made in 1863 by a VEGAN. Whoa. Mind blower.

My friends eat the strangest things for breakfast. I came up to one of my friends at school one day and she said "I'm so hungry". I asked what she had for breakfast and she said " Some left over chicken with some candycorn. " For dinner that wouldn't sound half bad, but this was what she ate when she woke up in the morning. I could see why she was hungry.

My favorite breakfast food is banana and chocolate chip pancakes. Then drench some syrup on top and put some whip cream on. Yum! I know the combo sounds pretty odd, but they are kind of the best.

Also what's good is cheesy eggs. Pretty much you make a scrambled egg, but put cheese in it. I love cheese. I'm a turophile. It means, cheese lover.

What did you have for breakfast? Write in the comments below. See you later! I'm going to go have my breakfast now. :)

P.S Green eggs and ham isn't that bad either.

Report Cards

Hi guys! Thought I would attempt to try to do two posts in one day. CRAZY. I know. Today, at my school,  report cards came out.

I did well and all, but while I was focusing on my grades, everyone else was showing each other.

Aren't these things supposed to be kind of secretive? They are looking at them like its a gum wrapper and trading them like baseball trading cards! I don't get it.

There are many different things people do when they get their report card. Some people, smile, and neatly put it in their backpack after a short glance. A lot of people just shrug and show it to a friend or shove it in their back packs. Others look sick, some start crying and a lot  just read it and re-read it again.

The students who MOSTLY share their report cards with anyone who will listen is the kids who got around a 2.0 GPA. Just because a lot of them came up to me.

Report Cards are kind of odd to give out in Middle School. It wasn't like Elementary School where you got a √ , √+ or √- and you get that new barbie doll house if you get straight √+ s . Or what it's going to be like in high school where everything is going towards collage.

Hmmm.... Those are the mysteries of life that everyone is too lazy to solve. Blog you guys tommorow! Happy Friday!

Science Teachers

Science Teachers.

They can be strict or nice. They can be tall and strong or short and weak. They can be dorky, perverted or ,really, just weird. They can make you really like science, or make you wish you never left 3rd grade.

My science teacher, let's call him Mr. Palmer (Not his real name) , is annoying and for some reason hates me. I am a good student.  Never have gotten suspended.Never have gotten detention. Never even been tardy to one class. Nothing. WHY DOESN'T HE LIKE ME? Anyway.  Report Cards came out today. I got a B in his class. -_- I was not pleased.

Well, a few days ago, we got back some notes that we had to turn in. Mr. Palmer marked me twenty percent down because they weren't in the style he wanted it in. My friend did it in the same style I did it in. Got an 100% on the notes. I asked for extra credit, because my grades weren't looking so good and apparently there is none.

For anyone who is in Elementary School or Home schooled reading this, science teachers on TV are not as nice as ones in real life. Well, maybe some, but not mine.

So if you get a bad teacher, try to make the best of it. You only have him/her for 1 period of the day. Maybe, just maybe, we can somehow survive. See you later guys!

Middle school relationships

Hello! Me again. Just wanted to discuss random things in life. Today I picked Middle school relationships. Kind of an odd topic. I'm personally no expert on this, because I have never had a BF. The occasional crush that I would doodle his name in my notebook, but nothing serious. I just think they are....well...... silly. Mainly it's the popular girls who go out with the popular guys and Cinderella stories aren't that common.

I see all these 12,13 and 14 year old girls just flipping their hair and giggling perfectly to get the guy. And then see my crush walk by and I'm like "HEY!!! I CAN DO THAT TOO!!!"

                                                                        TA-DA?

Hair flipping is actually pretty difficult...

But pretty much how these relationships go is: Girl likes Boy. Boy likes Girl. Boy asks Girl if she wants to go out. Girl says "OMG YES!". Boy and Girl go to the roller rink and share a Shirley Temple. Boy gets annoyed with clingy-ness of Girl. Girl gets annoyed with Boy not wanted to spend more time with her. Boy and Girl get into a "big" fight. Boy and Girl break up. Girl eats as much Rocky Road ice cream as she can possibly fit in her mouth. Boy tries not to care and goes on with his life.  Boy and Girl never speak to each other again or they get back together and the cycle happens all over again.

I would rather just have someone who I don't have to go through that pattern with. But occasionally it changes. So depends if I want to take my chances. Maybe later. I'm going to go get some ice cream now. Not rocky road. Bye guys.

Flamboyantly Meandering, The Beginning.

Hello. I should first start off why I chose Flamboyantly Meandering  for a name for my blog.
You see, a blog should be a thing you love doing, not a task, so to help me make it enjoyable, I chose my 2 favorite words. Flamboyantly and Meandering. Flamboyantly means highly elaborate and Meandering means to walk in an uncertain path. Which somehow matches this blog. I am being over the top while I blog in a path which I don't know.
I should probably tell you a tidbit about my life. My name is Bailey. I am in 7th grade at a school, somewhere..... In the world....... I'm pretty smart I guess. All As and Bs. My elective is speech, so I am QUITE a talker and I love to write. I act in plays and things. And I love to just share my stores. This isn't my first blog, I've had lots of other blogs that I've got bored of and just quit. 17 to be exact. But I will NOT give up this time.
On this blog, I will post random stuff. Sometimes I'll post a random picture, another time I will type up a short fictional story, maybe I'll post me singing a song or something. It really depends on my mood. So I don't want to limit it to anything. Hope you jump on this crazy bandwagon with me and stay for the ride, because, boy, it's going to get bumpy. ;)
